KCOG Missions

We take an active interest in missions both in this country and abroad. As a church we help them with regular financial help and for specific needs as they arise. Below are details of the missions we support.

Maranatha Pentecostal Mission

Sierra Leone

Picture
In 1920, Matthew Sinclair of Kilsyth, Scotland, answered a divine call to missionary work in Sierra Leone.  Encouraged by church leader William Hutchison, he founded the United Pentecostal Mission.

From the 1950's to the mid 1990's, the Maranatha Pentecostal Mission (MPM) thrived with Scottish church support.  However, the 1994 civil war led to a leadership transition to local pastors.

Kilsyth Church of God are joining with Comfort International and other churches to reconnect with MPM; to encourage, strengthen and support them in reaching out to the broken and poor of their communities.

Kilsyth Community Food Bank

KCFB is a registered charity organisation committed to the provision of emergency food relief to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship.

As a church we value the work of other organisations within the community and look to partner with and support them as they meet important needs.

Kilsyth Athletic Football Club

Kilsyth Athletic is a local club whose objectives are to advance public participation in amateur football by promoting the game through the provision of recreational facilities and activities. They aim to improve the general fitness and wellbeing of the community through football, improving health and self-esteem and helping to improve the community spirit of Kilsyth.

Pastor Gary Gibson has supported the senior team as chaplain since 2023.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is an initiative of Samaritan's Purse. It's mission is to show God’s love to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Since 1990, more than 157 million children in over 160 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox packed with gifts from Operation Christmas Child.

KCOG has been involved in collecting shoeboxes for a number of years and has recently become an official Drop-off Location during National Collection Week
