"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ-Jesus"
TRUST Our destiny is not limited by the impenetrable perimeters of existence which are inevitably tied to our little blue planet. David affirms… "My times are in Your hand..!" How wonderful to know that at the onset of another New Year, no matter what may happen, in Christ we are safe. The unknown secrets of the coming days, weeks and months are secure in His keeping. He has given us a glorious hope which bursts through the boundaries of mortality. Our future prospects are firmly fixed to an immovable trust in a victorious Saviour. The apostle John reminds us... "The world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever."
SWITZERLAND When we are at home in the mountain village of ‘Le Lieu’ our activities are coordinated with the programs of a number of churches in the French-speaking cantons, where we are invited regularly for ministry. Over the years strong bonds of Christian love have been forged. How wonderful to be a member of God’s family..! Glad to report that in spite of our rather hectic life style, we are in good health. In the spring, on the advice of his ophthalmologist, Ken had cataract surgery on both eyes. In February Jocelyne had a check-up at the University Hospital in Lausanne. Twenty years ago she had a major cancer operation. One doctor said it was a miracle that she’s alive and completely free of cancer. We thank the Lord for His healing power.
TRAVELS During 2019 we traveled to various parts of the Continent preaching God's Word and encouraging His People. Driving along Europe’s congested high-speed motorways we have witnessed horrendous accidents - some of which had fatalities. We are grateful to our loving Heavenly Father for His constant care and protection. There is a beautiful promise in the Book of Psalms, which we resolutely believe..."The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming from this time forth and even forever more."
SPAIN Tens of thousands of Latinos - from Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico and Colombia - have immigrated to Spain to find work. Some are born-again believers and they have brought invigorating spiritual dynamics to the churches. There are now more than 400 attending the AoG in Valencia. In June we were there for 10 days and at every service, we rejoiced as many responded to the Gospel Message. The services were lively and joyful but always dignified. There was always a sense of expectancy and the name of Jesus was greatly honoured and uplifted. The “Templo Cristiano” is a place of edification and God's People are enriched every week by excellent Bible teaching organised by a capable ministry team led by pastors Francisco and Josué Pena. After 10 days of ministry and sweet fellowship in the fascinating City of Valencia we drove 80 kms North to “Castellon de la Plana” a busy town situated between sea and mountains. The main church has a well attended annex in a different sector of the city. Both churches are involved in social work distributing food and clothing to needy refugee families. Meetings were also held in Villarreal and at a pioneer assembly in “La Vall d’Uixo”. We stayed for 10 days with our dear friend, British AOG missionary Carol Ford. Although Carol is still grieving the unexpected death of her beloved husband Frank, she continues to be active in the ministry. Her children are very involved in the local assemblies. Her eldest son Timothy has taken over the pastoral responsibilities at the main church in Castellon. Second son Nicky is on the ministry team in Villarreal and Katie is married to the son of the pastor of the church in Tarragona where she has many activities. Please remember Carol and her family in your prayers as they serve the Lord.
POLAND In September, we left our base in Switzerland and set off on the long drive to the animated City of Glogow - our 30th Outreach to Poland..! During World War II, Glogow was destroyed and devastated. Then followed the harsh post-war Russian occupation. However, the city's small Christian community continued courageously to worship the Lord, despite vindictive opposition. Glogow now has 3 well-attended Pentecostal churches. Isaiah reminds us..."The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." The believers have an insatiable hunger for the "Things of God" and rich times of blessing were enjoyed. At every service many responded to the preaching of the Word. We also preached in the town of Wysowa, near the Slovakian border. It was thrilling to minister at the first service in the new church building in the town of Szprotawa. Although the work is not quite finished, pastor Janek wanted us to preach and testify in the new premises as a tribute of appreciation to all who had contributed to the sum of £3000 that we were able to send as a love gift to help with the cost of building materials. Over a period of five years every able-bodied man gave 18 hours of their free- time every month to construct the new church. Not only did they give of their time but also sacrificially gave money from their meager wages for the project. Although there was only one professional builder in the team, nevertheless the work has been done to a very high standard.
THANKS We extend to you our sincere gratitude for helping in so many different ways. Your prayers, are a continual source of blessing and encouragement. Thanks too for your material support which enables us to continue with this ministry of Euro-Evangelism. In turn, our prayers are with you that 2020 will be a year of spiritual enrichment.
Yours in God’s Great Love
Ken and Jocelyne
