OUTREACH EUROPE - Summer Update 2017
SCOTLAND Mid-April till mid-May we were back in Scotland - our first visit to the "Bonnie Land" for 2 years. It was a delight to renew fellowship with family and friends. We spent a week in the North East where we had the joy of ministering in Fraserburgh - at Queen's Road Assembly of God Church, at Calvary Church, and also in Cairnbulg and Aberdeen. God is moving by His Spirit and great things are happening. We shared ministry in Whitburn and Kilsyth - in the COG and in the Storehouse Church, where the new first-class building is now in use.
ITALY From 01-21 June we were in "la Bella Italia" where we had a wonderful time. The Italian believers really praise God with infectious enthusiasm. One is always blessed and challenged by their attitude. They come to church expecting to receive something good from our loving Heavenly Father's bountiful supply..!
WEDDING We started off with a wedding in the town of Fondi. Daniela, whom we've known since she was a baby and Roberto who gave his heart to Jesus a few years ago at a campaign where Ken was preaching, invited Ken to deliver the address at their wedding which was held on the grounds of a lovely villa situated beside a busy road. Many 'passers-by' stopped to listen. It was a beautiful ceremony. The reception was held in a 4-star hotel, where for several hours, delectable dishes of Italian cuisine were happily consumed by the 200 guests.
FONDI Carmelo LoRé, the father of the bride, is the pastor of the ADI Church in the town of Fondi (Italian Assemblies of God) and also pastors the ADI Church in the town of Monte San Biagio. We were kept busy with meetings nearly every evening and two on Sundays. The Lord's presence was very real and a good number requested prayer.
LATINA Next we drove to the city of Latina - a former stronghold of Benito Mussolini's Fascist Party. Our good friend Pastor Eliseo Fragnito, the regional superintendent, had invited us for ministry. Lively meetings were held in Latina and in another ADI Church that Eliseo takes care of in the city of Cisterna. God moved in the hearts and lives of many. It was thrilling to be there.
HEAT-WAVE It was hot (39/40°C). The Italian pastors keep their jackets on, wear ties and try to look their very best in God's House. Every evening Ken's jacket was soaked with perspiration..! Hymn-books are still in use and it was a joy to sing some blessed old "Songs of Zion". Both churches have excellent orchestras and choirs. One evening it was a privilege to minister to a packed congregation in the town of Sonnino. Many young people were present and after the message the whole congregation stood to their feet, worshipping the Lord, calling on Jesus, asking Him to meet their needs - for salvation, for healing, or for Divine guidance.
SKODA Altogether we covered nearly 3,000 kms in our Skoda Octavia. When we arrived back home in "La Vallée de Joux" we were exhausted but oh so happy to have been used of God. Thanks for remembering us in prayer.
BAPTISMS Since returning from Italy we've had meetings in several Swiss churches. We also attended a glorious Baptismal Service beside the River Orbe when 4 teenagers who attend an Evangelical Church in the neighbouring town of Vallorbe, obeyed the Lord's command. More than 150 lined the bank of the river praising God for these dear young people who have a burning desire to live their lives in accordance with His Word. After the service picnic-hampers were opened, sausages were grilled and sweet fellowship was enjoyed by all.
COMING ACTIVITIES On 07 September we set off on our 28th "Outreach to Poland" - where our excellent interpreter, Pastor Andrzej Guresz, has arranged a busy programme. We return to our Swiss base on 23 September. On 01 October Ken will be preaching in the Roman village of St. Blaise, beside Lake Neuchâtel. On 05 October we drive to Spain for 3 weeks of ministry - in Valencia and Castellon. The last Sunday of October Ken will be preaching again in Switzerland this time in Neuchâtel at "La Chapelle de l'Espoir." (The Chapel of Hope..!)
THANKS Your "Help in the Gospel", your intercessory prayers, friendship and love, are greatly appreciated. May God's richest blessing be your daily portion.
Yours in God's Great Love,
Ken and Jocelyne.
