OUTREACH EUROPE: NEWS UPDATE - JUNE 2018

The Lord is my portion; therefore I will hope in Him" Lamentations 3:24
“HELLO” - and warmest greetings from la Vallée de Joux, Switzerland..!

Late on Wednesday 30th May we arrived home after a three week “Outreach to Spain”. Driving north from Valencia we stopped overnight in the town of Le Boulou on the French/Spanish border. The weather was atrocious with thunder storms and severe flooding. Next day, we drove along the heavily congested high speed North/South French Autoroute. Powerful articulated-trucks were everywhere. It was a nightmare to drive across the City of Lyon during the rush-hour traffic. For the best part of an hour we progressed slowly bumper to bumper. Thank God we didn’t have any mishaps or breakdowns with our trustworthy Skoda Octavia..!

Meetings were held in Castellon, Villarreal and at a pioneer assembly in La Vall d’Uixo. We stayed for 10 days in Castellon with our dear friend, British AoG missionary, Carol Ford. Although Carol is still grieving the sudden death of her beloved husband Frank, she continues to be very active in the ministry. She interpreted for us in a couple of churches. Carol’s eldest son Tim, who has taken over the pastoral responsibilities of the assembly, interpreted for us on our second Sunday in the recently acquired large commercial building - complete with a parking area. Around 200 were in the lively congregation and at least 80 responded to the Gospel invitation - for salvation, healing or for God’s help in difficult situations. The Lord’s presence was tangible. Please remember Carol, Tim, his wife Eliana and all the Leadership Team in your prayers.

From Castellon we drove further south to the fascinating City of Valencia. On Sunday May 27, at our final service in the ‘Templo Cristiano’ Pastor Francisco Pena reckoned that about 400 were in attendance. When Ken made the appeal more than 100 stood to their feet - some repenting from their sins, some needing a healing touch from the Saviour’s loving hands, while others were seeking Divine guidance concerning important decisions. Eventually the whole congregation stood to their feet Praising and Glorifying the Name of Jesus. These people really mean business      with God. One evening Jocelyne ministered to an enthusiastic group of women. After the message there was a lengthy period of Praise and Worship. Many testified about how the Lord Jesus blesses and helps      them in all things in spite of many hardships and adversities.

The majority of those who attend are South American immigrants - “Los Latinos”. They have no inhibitions about calling on the Lord, seeking His help and thanking Him for His faithfulness. Many young people attend and there’s a dynamic (and very loud) Praise Band. Upstairs is a large area where for 3-hours on Sunday afternoons 40 are enrolled in an intensive 3-year Bible Study Course - and where, on the first Sunday of the month, delicious ‘Spanish Paella’ is served to church members and visitors. The proceeds from the sale of the inexpensive meal are used for missionary work in various parts of the world. In June Pastor Pena will be travelling on a missions-trip to Senegal. Earlier this year he led a group of 8 on a similar trip to Honduras.

It was a real privilege to share ministry and to enjoy sweet fellowship with these dear Saints of God.

This month we’ll be holding meetings in Switzerland and Luxembourg. A big “THANK-YOU” for your prayers on our behalf and for your faithful material support. Continually we are amazed at just how our loving Heavenly Father is pleased to meet our needs. May the Lord’s richest blessing be your daily portion.

Yours in God’s Great love.
Ken and Jocelyne.
